Annual Giving & Stewardship Manager

Description Position Summary The Manager of Annual Giving and Stewardship manages St. Philip's annual donor pipeline — all donors below the major gift threshold — with a Year 1 target of $500,000, while building a comprehensive stewardship program that keeps every donor personally connected to St. Philip's mission and gives again. St. Philip's primary donor base is not a parent community; it is a diverse mix of foundations, individuals, corporations, and faith community partners, requiring appeals — and stewardship — that are deeply personal and mission-driven. Strong writing and organization skills, systems thinking, and the discipline to manage a high-volume annual fund alongside a relationship-based stewardship program are essential. Desired Education: Knowledge Skills, Abilities & Experience Bachelor’s degree (communications, marketing, public relations, preferred) 2–3 years annual fund, donor stewardship, or donor relations experience Exceptional writer with ability to write appeals to feel personal, never generic Experience with diverse donor base beyond parent communities CRM and database experience Job Duties/Responsibilities Own the annual giving pipeline for all donors below the major gift threshold — renewal, stewardship, and acquisition Write and produce annual appeals that are mission-driven, community-rooted, and donor-specific — not generic institutional communications Execute gift acknowledgment within 24–48 hours for every donor, with personalized calls, handwritten notes, or visits for major and mid-level annual donors Manage the renewal calendar — ensure every annual donor is re-solicited at the right time with the right message Manage faith community donor relationships at the annual fund level — attend faith community events, build congregation relationships Steward foundation relationships for small recurring grants in coordination with the Foundations & Grants Manager Facilitate donor acquisition and first-year retention — systematically convert event attendees, volunteers, and warm contacts into first-time donors, then build the stewardship touchpoints that carry them into their second gift Design and manage a comprehensive donor stewardship plan — welcome calls, impact updates, anniversary touches, and renewal reminders — mapped to each donor segment across the full giving year in coordination with the major gifts and grant management team Build and execute a donor recognition program, including personalized impact reporting, donor honor rolls, and stewardship touchpoints that reinforce why donors give in coordination with Chief Philanthropy Officer Own lapsed- and at-risk-donor win-back efforts, using giving history and engagement data to re-engage donors before they stop giving Partner with the Major Gifts team to ensure a seamless stewardship hand-off for donors as they move from the annual fund toward major giving Track and report annual fund performance weekly; track donor retention rate, stewardship touchpoints completed, and lapsed-donor recovery quarterly Requirements WORK BEHAVIOR: Indicative of Core Values of Organization.
