Responsibilities

• Serve patients by courteously and professionally collecting blood and nonblood specimens for lab testing
• Maintain and track collected specimens in accordance with established procedure
• Perform venipunctures and finger sticks
• Maintain specimen integrity by using aseptic technique and following departmental procedures
• Maintain safe, secure and healthy work environment by following standards
• Update patient records as needed
• Maintain an organized and clean workspace

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Adept skills in venipuncture, phlebotomy and finger sticks
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal capabilities including empathy and compassion
• Ability to think critically, analyze information and problem solve
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and use good judgment
