Core responsibilities

• Build mechanical subassemblies and perform final assembly to engineering specs for aerospace products.
• Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
• Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and precision measuring instruments to assemble small parts.
• Install hardware: screws, nuts, bolts, rivets, clips, bushings, and other mechanical fasteners.
• Verify fit, alignment, and functionality; make adjustments as needed.
• Execute visual and dimensional inspections to meet quality standards.
• Detect and report nonconforming materials, parts, or assemblies promptly.
• Accurately complete production and quality documentation.
• Adhere to safety procedures and company quality requirements.
• Maintain a 5S‑compliant, organized work area.
• Partner with production, quality, and engineering to troubleshoot assembly issues.
• Meet daily output goals while upholding craftsmanship and precision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of mechanical assembly experience in manufacturing; aerospace background preferred.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and assembly drawings.
• Experience with hand/power tools, torque tools, and measurement equipment.
• Familiarity with quality standards and inspection processes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and meticulous attention to detail.
• Team‑oriented with the ability to work independently when required.
• Excellent attendance and reliability.

Physical requirements

• Regular sitting, standing, bending, and reaching.
• Lift up to 30 lbs frequently; up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Repetitive hand and wrist movements.
• Fine motor skills and strong hand‑eye coordination.
• Ability to identify small components and assess detailed assemblies.

Proficiencies and preferred exposure

• AS9100 quality systems and prior AS9100 experience.
• PLC wiring experience (electro‑mechanical builds a plus).
• Mechanical assembly, final assembly, and general assembly capability.
