Safety Coordinator North American Roofing Services LLC – Tampa, FL (ID: 4381-198) Full-Time / Regular. Hybrid position combining office responsibilities with regular travel to commercial roofing job sites across multiple states. Job Duties Setting safety standards for commercial roofing projects. Working with crews during visits to reinforce company safety standards, often conducting follow‑up training when issues are observed. Mentoring Field Supervisors in safety topics and building rapport to ensure strong communication between the Safety Team and crews. Inspecting job sites to ensure crew members adhere to safety standards and documenting any deficiencies in the inspection. Completing inspection checklist and assigning a score for each job visit. Documenting and photographing any safety violations on site. Performing accident investigations, gathering pictures, and communicating with the Safety Director in a timely manner. Issuing violation notices and stop‑work orders when needed. Conferring with Project Managers and Field Managers to explain regulations and recommend actions for serious safety violations. Education & Certifications Associate degree or completion of a trade/technical school required. OSHA 10‑ or 30‑Hour certification (or basic knowledge of construction safety); certification preferred. Experience 1–5 years in a safety‑related role, ideally within construction or general industry. Commercial roofing or field inspection experience a plus. Skills & Requirements Minimum 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record. Bilingual in English and Spanish required. Strong communication, mentoring, and relationship‑building skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer applications. Physically able to lift 50+ lbs., bend, climb ladders, and work in varying weather conditions. Willing and able to travel regularly between job sites (Within Florida and out‑of‑state locations). Working Conditions Hybrid environment (office, rooftops, customer spaces, vehicles, and warehouses). Repetitive bending and stooping with frequent lifting up to 75 lbs. required. Repetitive finger/hand/forearm motion necessary for data entry or taking pictures of a worksite. Travel will average 75% depending on customer needs and visits to sites/customers by car, bus or airplane. Must be able to lift and set up a ladder weighing up to 75 lbs. Must be able to climb ladders on commercial roofs at a height of 20 to 40 feet. Must be able to climb a ladder or stairs to get onto a rooftop to conduct an inspection. Must be able to work at heights ranging from a single story to multi‑story building. Must be able to wear a full, body harness when necessary for fall protection. Must be able to wear a respirator when necessary due to the environment. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions ranging from extreme cold to extreme heat and other inclement weather circumstances.
