Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing complex financial portfolios, overseeing revenue recognition, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial insights unique to the alternative lending and fintech space. If you have a strong background in high-volume transactions, cash flow management, and financial reporting within the financial services sector, we would love to have you on our team!
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP, specifically tailored to alternative lending revenue models (such as factoring fees and future receivables discounting).
Oversee the accounting treatment for advances, including tracking daily ACH collections, defaults, debt servicing, and portfolio valuation.
Manage complex revenue recognition schedules, ledger reconciliations, and syndication accounting for multi-party merchant funding deals.
Monitor daily liquidity, manage banking relationships, and oversee cash positioning to ensure optimal deployment of capital into new business.
Coordinate annual independent audits, manage tax filings, and ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations relevant to alternative finance.
Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal financial controls and risk management procedures to safeguard company assets.
Qualifications & Skills
Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s in Accounting/Tax is a plus).
Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years specifically within factoring, or alternative lending industry.
Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite, or enterprise accounting software, alongside advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, financial modeling).
Deep understanding of daily-repayment accounting cycles, unearned revenue, loan loss provisions (CECL compliance), and ISO commission structures.
