Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field.
• Current certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
• Solid understanding of various communication modes, including American Sign Language (ASL), and auditory-verbal techniques.
• Experience developing and adapting individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing differences.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, students’ families, and general education staff.
• Creative, flexible approach to learning and instructional strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across grades and ability levels.
• Evaluate student progress and adjust instructional methods to optimize learning outcomes.
• Offer consultative support to classroom teachers, support staff, and families about accessibility and communication needs.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation in accordance with school and regulatory requirements.
• Advocate for student participation and equal access in all aspects of the school community.
• Foster an environment that honors diversity and empowers students to succeed academically and socially.
