About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM) Experience: Minimum of 1 year acute care experience License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Must have active nursing license - Previous Charge Experience: 1 year Description: Mixed unit PCU, Med Surg/Tele and Med Surg. Floating is required within service line. Floating to Monroe as needed. Every other weekend is required. Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Staffing ratio is 1:5. Skills required include MS/Tele and telemetry. Cardiac monitoring and emergency response required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. IV therapy and phlebotomy required, including central line care and management, as well as peripheral line care and management. Starting and maintaining IVs is essential. Respiratory needs include nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management. Experience with medication system required. Telemetry experience is required. Experience with electronic medical record systems, specifically Epic, is preferred. Certifications ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are required. 1 year minimum experience is required. Unit accepts first-time travelers. Local travelers within 50 miles are not accepted. Travelers will be required to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as part of the role. Fingerprinting may be required for some specialties. Schedules can be changed with two-weeks notice to balance staffing. Modules required for orientation and annually vary by specialty. Travel pairs are allowed to submit applications. Clinical staff are expected to cover shifts if they call out sick.
