Job Description

Join our team as a Joist Shop Welder where you will play a crucial role in operating weld machines and assembling joists. This position involves learning and operating various machinery, including laser machines, within an assembly line environment. Experience with MIG, TIG, or Stick welding is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Operate weld machines effectively.
• Monitor machinery to ensure proper functioning.
• Collaborate with team members in an assembly line to produce joists.
• Read and interpret schematics for joist assembly.
• Participate in welding class after machinery training.
• Operate laser machines or other machinery as needed.

Essential Skills

• Ability to operate weld machines.
• Proficiency in reading schematics.
• Experience in MIG, TIG, or Stick welding is a plus.
• Reliability and good attendance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a trade or vocational schooling.
• Ability to work in a heavy industrial environment.

Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing plant where structural steel is fabricated for bridge work. The environment is heavy industrial, with conditions varying from hot in summer to cold in winter. Prepare for a physically demanding atmosphere with exposure to dirt, metal, and loud noises.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Point of Rocks, MD.

The pay range for this position is $21.17 - $24.17/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
