A school district in St. Johns County, Florida is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist (PT) for a full-time, short-term maternity leave assignment during the 2026–2027 school year.

The selected therapist will provide school-based physical therapy services that help students improve mobility, independence, physical access, and participation within the educational environment. Specific campus information will be discussed directly with qualified candidates during the interview process.

• School-aged student population
• Full-time temporary assignment
• Caseload size and student needs will be reviewed during the interview
• School placement will be determined according to district needs and clinician experience
• Services may include evaluations, direct therapy, consultation, and IEP support

Professional Requirements
• Graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
• Active Florida Physical Therapist license
• Current professional credentials required to practice physical therapy
• Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills

What You’ll Do
• Conduct physical therapy evaluations, assessments, and screenings
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEP goals
• Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services
• Support student mobility, positioning, motor development, and access to the school environment
• Recommend adaptive equipment, accommodations, and mobility supports when appropriate
• Collaborate with educators, families, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions according to educational needs
• Maintain accurate documentation and service records
• Participate in IEP, eligibility, and student-support meetings

Screening & Credentialing
• Successful completion of all district onboarding requirements
• Background check and fingerprint clearance as required by Florida and the district
• Verification of active Florida Physical Therapist licensure
• Internal eligibility interview
