Position Title Mechanical Engineer – Failure Analysis & Accident Reconstruction Location Seattle, WA – preferred; alternative locations may be considered depending on qualifications. Department Forensic Engineering Role Overview This role investigates mechanical system failures for insurance and legal clients, including industrial machinery, consumer products, HVAC equipment, construction equipment, and general safety concerns. It also performs accident reconstruction for motor and commercial vehicle collisions. Roles & Responsibilities Perform vehicle, site, and evidence inspections using 3D scanning technology, testing, and data collection. Conduct investigations to gather and analyze equipment failures. Prepare and deliver technical presentations to client groups and technical conferences. Enhance professional knowledge through continuing education, technical publications, and the preparation of technical papers. Prepare technical reports. Provide expert testimony as required.
