IRP Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Service, Cath Lab

Scope of Position The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in his/her own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization, The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost effective care. Position Summary The Inpatient Registered Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Inpatient Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model. The Cardiovascular Lab by providing direct patient care in the pre- and post-procedural areas. This role supports the recovery of electrophysiology, cardiac catheterization, and other moderate sedation cases. Registered Nurses in this are can expect to receive exposure and training to assist the cardiology clinic team, including supporting patients presenting for outpatient cardiology appointments. This position offers a broad range of clinical experience across procedural, recovery, and ambulatory care settings. Scheduling Minimum of 16 hours worked per month Day shift only No weekends or holidays Required Qualifications Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required. Current Ohio license or interim permit. Experience in relevant care setting preferred. Background Check Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
