Business Development Manager

A design firm is seeking a Business Development Manager with at least 2 years of sales experience for their Brooklyn, NY office. This position offers a base salary + uncapped commission. Key Responsibilities Qualify incoming leads and add 30+ new leads monthly through cold outreach, networking, and referrals Build relationships with prospects and existing clients, and generate leads through events and industry networks Assess client needs, attend site visits (virtual and in person), and create tailored proposals Contribute to outbound sales strategy and promote the company's design services Prepare estimates, decks, presentations, and proposals for plants, containers, maintenance, and custom work Draft, send, and file service contracts; generate planting sheets for new installs Keep the CRM current and complete weekly/monthly reporting on inquiries and projects Contribute to weekly production meetings, sales updates, and 1:1s with your manager Own your sales goal and hit monthly, quarterly, and annual targets Maintain an ultra-responsive client experience (24-hour email response, proposals within one week) Share market, client, and competitor insights with leadership Ensure alignment across sales, production, and maintenance teams Requirements 2+ years of sales experience, ideally including outbound/new business Experience selling to architects, interior designers, or facilities managers for commercial spaces is preferred Local to NYC, with time in the field across the five boroughs and on site in their Brooklyn office Knowledge of indoor plants/horticulture is a huge plus! Performance Measured By Hitting monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals Consistent pipeline of 30+ new leads per month Timely estimates and proposals (one-week goal) Accurate, on-time communication, reporting, and system use The annual base salary range is $60,000 to $65,000 + commission. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
