Physician Assistant - Emergency Medicine

Role Overview: The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner collaborates with physicians to provide patient care, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. Responsibilities involve ordering and interpreting tests, prescribing medications within scope, performing procedures, and ensuring patient safety and education. The role emphasizes autonomy, clinical decision-making, effective communication with healthcare teams, and adherence to policies and standards. Key Duties Assess and establish diagnoses; develop and implement treatment plans. Document accurately in electronic medical records and order diagnostics. Prescribe, modify, or discontinue treatments as appropriate. Report significant risks or test results to collaborating physicians. Perform procedures within licensure scope. Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff. Provide patient education and advocate for safe, ethical care. Qualifications & Skills: A Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies is preferred, with a Bachelor's required. Certification from NCCPA and PA licensure in Pennsylvania are necessary. Skills include care management, clinical policies, health documentation, patient assessment, safety, and patient rights. BLS certification is also required.
