Acting as a strategic underwriting leader and trusted advisor, the role applies advanced underwriting judgment, analytics, and product expertise to develop tailored solutions that align client objectives with HSB’s risk appetite, financial goals, and market strategy.The role maintains full ownership of assigned client portfolios, proactively managing underwriting performance, pricing adequacy, and risk quality across the lifecycle of each program. In close partnership with clients and the Client Integration Team, the Portfolio Underwriter leads ongoing portfolio monitoring, client reviews, and program evolution – using claims, engineering, exposure, and financial insights to address emerging risks, strengthen retention, and optimize long-term outcomes.As an internal champion and market-facing thought leader, the Portfolio Underwriter collaborates across underwriting, product, operations, and business development to influence product strategy, improve processes, and deliver differentiated solutions.
