Manager of Network Engineering (Fortigate and Azure)

Symbiotic Services is seeking an experienced and hands-on Manager of Network Engineering to lead the design, implementation, and support of enterprise-wide network infrastructure. This technical leadership role involves overseeing a team of network engineers, driving complex networking projects, and ensuring robust network security and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead daily operations and providetechnical mentorship to the network engineering team.
Design, configure, and maintainLAN, WAN, SD-WAN, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless systems.
Act as a senior escalation pointfor advanced network issues and root cause analysis.
Implement network monitoring andperformance tuning to maintain high availability.
Collaborate with cybersecurity onnetwork security policies and compliance.
Manage lifecycle upgrades fornetworking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
Architect and deploy hybrid cloudnetworking solutions (Azure, AWS, etc.).
Work cross-functionally withapplication, server, and security teams.
Maintain documentation andnetwork diagrams.
Manage vendor relationships andcoordinate hardware/software support.
Lead major projects includingoffice expansions and data center/cloud migrations.
Participate in on-call rotationand incident response as needed.

Qualifications:

Extensive experience withFortiGate Firewalls, Aruba, Meraki, Arista, and Azure Cloud Networking.
Deep knowledge of AzureExpressRoute, Azure Firewalls, VPN Gateways, Azure BGP, VNET/Subnetting.
Strong routing/switchingexpertise (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, QoS, VLANs, STP).
Familiarity with Zero Trustsecurity models and VPNs.
Proficient with networkautomation, scripting, and monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds,LogicMonitor).
Excellent communication,documentation, and project management skills.
Ability to manage multiplepriorities in a collaborative environment.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in ComputerScience, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
12+ years of network engineeringexperience with 3-5 years in a leadership role.
