Phlebotomist

Work Schedule Per diem role with variable hours between 6:30a.m. and 5:00p.m., Monday–Friday, including weekend and holiday rotation. Responsibilities Collect clinical laboratory specimens and perform patient registration, order entry, and specimen processing under general supervision. Perform waived testing with general supervision. Provide logistical support to team members and general assistance to customers. Perform venipunctures. Collect other specimens and explain proper collection procedures. Clarify orders and pre‑analytical test requirements when appropriate. Register patients; requisition lab orders and verify billing information. Process, store, and transport specimens according to laboratory requirements. Actively promote HNL Lab Medicine’s values and exhibit excellent customer relations. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of changes in specimen requirements and collection devices. Maintain an adequate inventory of supplies and a meticulous work area. Assist in orientation, training, and mentoring of new staff members. Participate in Continuous Service Improvement and continuing education programs. Properly record and document necessary expense reimbursement (Mileage Reimbursement) following established electronic processes. Provide on‑call and mobile service as required. Travel to sites within 25miles of the base location for coverage. Adapt to the flexibility required by the per‑diem position. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED; 6months to 2years of related experience or training preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Bilingual in Spanish (reading, writing, speaking) may be required based on service location. Math proficiency: add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure; compute rates, ratios, percent; interpret bar graphs. Reasoning: apply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions; solve problems with several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer skills: use of word‑processing software. Certificates and Licenses Accessible and reliable transportation for essential duties. American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification for adult, child, and infant; certification provided if needed. Location Address: 10E Spruce St, Health Center at Frackville.
