We are recruiting for the following position on behalf of a client: Medical Director (Part-Time) Independent Family Practice - Orlando, FL Location: Orlando, FL occasional presence required Position Type: Part-Time Compensation: Competitive monthly stipend, commensurate with experience and scope About the Practice We are a new, independently owned primary care practice preparing to open in the greater Orlando area. Our mission is to deliver accessible, patient-centered care to a diverse and growing community - free from the constraints of corporate medicine. As the practice completes its licensure and launch phase, we are seeking a Florida-licensed physician to serve as Medical Director under Florida's Health Care Clinic Act. This is an opportunity to shape the clinical foundation of a practice from day one - from weighing in on equipment and supply selection during buildout, to establishing protocols, quality standards, and a culture of excellent care - all with a defined, manageable time commitment. Position Summary The Medical Director will serve as the designated medical director of record for the practice’s Health Care Clinic license issued by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), in accordance with Chapter 400, Part X, Florida Statutes. The Medical Director provides clinical oversight, regulatory accountability, and quality assurance for the practice, working in close partnership with the ownership and practice management team. Key Responsibilities Serve as Medical Director of record on the practice’s AHCA Health Care Clinic license and fulfill all statutory duties under Fla. Stat. § 400.9935 Accept legal responsibility for the clinic’s clinical operations as required by Florida law Conduct systematic reviews of clinic billings to ensure billings are not fraudulent or unlawful, and take immediate corrective action if irregularities are identified Ensure that all practitioners providing services at the clinic hold active, appropriate licensure and credentials Ensure compliance with adverse incident reporting and other regulatory requirements Develop, review, and approve clinical policies, protocols, and standing orders Provide supervision and/or collaborative oversight of advanced practice providers (APRNs/PAs), as applicable and consistent with Florida supervision requirements Support quality assurance, peer review, and continuous improvement activities Serve as clinical liaison to AHCA and other regulatory bodies as needed Advise ownership on clinical staffing, scope of services, and standards of care During the launch phase: provide clinical input, as desired, on the selection of medical equipment, instruments, and clinical supplies to ensure the practice is outfitted appropriately for its intended scope of services Qualifications MD or DO with an active, unencumbered Florida medical license required Board certification in Family Medicine No pending or prior disciplinary actions, license restrictions, or exclusions from Medicare/Medicaid required Prior experience as a medical director, clinic owner, or in a supervisory/administrative clinical role strongly preferred Working knowledge of Florida’s Health Care Clinic Act and AHCA licensure requirements preferred (guidance and administrative support will be provided) Strong commitment to compliance, documentation quality, and patient safety Time Commitment Part-time; estimated commitment negotiable based on scope (typically several hours per month plus periodic on-site presence) Availability for consultation on clinical and compliance matters as needed On-site presence consistent with statutory and operational requirements What We Offer Competitive monthly medical director stipend Flexibility to maintain your existing clinical practice Meaningful role in launching and shaping an independent practice Administrative and compliance support from a healthcare practice management team The practice is an equal opportunity employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cornerstone Healthcare Consulting and Management
