Physical Therapist Assistant Acute Care

In this role, you will work under the supervision of a physical therapist to provide rehabilitative care for hospitalized patients during their recovery process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans tailored to patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or severe illnesses.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises designed to improve mobility, strength, and balance without overexertion.
• Provide hands-on therapy such as stretching or assisted mobility exercises as prescribed by the physical therapist.
• Educate patients on using adaptive equipment like walkers or wheelchairs safely during recovery.
• Document patient progress and report updates to the supervising physical therapist for adjustments in care plans.

Work Environment:

• The role is based in hospitals or acute care facilities where PTAs work closely with critically ill patients requiring intensive rehabilitation support.
