TAX PROGRAM SUPERVISOR, FRANCHISE TAX BOARD

$4,854 - $6,080 per month

State of California

Salary: $4,854.00 - $6,080.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable. Working Conditions This position requires 3 or more days in the office per week and is designated office-centered. Some remote work is possible within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. Responsibilities Under the general direction of an Office Services Manager I (OSM I), the Tax Program Supervisor (TPS) plans, organizes, and directs the work of the Key Data Operators (KDO) within the Information Capture and Banking Section (ICBS). The TPS reviews and approves work, makes or assists with decisions on operational and personnel issues, and evaluates and recommends changes in policies and operational procedures within ICBS. The TPS also provides input into the selection of personnel, training, and evaluation of staff's performance. The TPS will provide detailed feedback and coaching on performance concerns to staff, and will document these concerns. As a member of the ICBS Leadership Team, the TPS continually seeks to improve workload processing and meet section goals. Minimum Qualifications Minimally required qualifications are detailed in the Class Specification. Candidates must meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification(s). Desirable Qualifications Ability to facilitate effective meetings Ability to create and deliver presentations Strong organizational, time management and workload planning skills Strong leadership skills, including the ability to inspire, motivate, mentor and build teams Independent and self-motivated, with an emphasis on getting the job done Ability to foster and encourage positive relationships, create and maintain job satisfaction, encourage success, and demonstrate empathy and understanding Ability to develop and apply appropriate communication styles to a wide range of situations and audiences Ability to create and maintain cooperative relationships with peers, staff, management and business partners Ability to gather information, recognize patterns, analyze problems, develop and evaluate alternatives, identify risks and recommend appropriate course of action Change management experience, including the ability to anticipate impacts, and assist with the implementation of complex and widespread change Ability to operate job related equipment, including a personal computer, and the use of computer programs and systems related to the job, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel Knowledge of Information Capture and Banking Section (ICBS) processes, procedures and systems of work Benefits Benefit information can be found on the CalHR website and the CalPERS website.
