Phlebotomist

This is a contract job opportunity. Position: Phlebotomist. Location: Sun City, CA and area (float job). Schedule: 6 AM to 6 PM, Monday–Friday. Shifts will only be 8 hours but may need to arrive at 6 AM or end as late as 6 PM. Projected duration: 3 months. Pay rate: $20.20 to $22.20 per hour depending on experience. Benefits are available. Will float to Menifee, Perris, Hemmitt, Temecula, Fall Brook, and Wildomar locations. Requires a clean driving record and reliable transportation. Mileage expenses paid. Requires pediatric and geriatric experience. Summary The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. Position Responsibilities Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc. Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. Properly explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of venipuncture (blood drawing) and/or other specimen collection (e.g., urine or fecal) as required. Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Fully understand all physician’s orders. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order. Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% correctness. Package specimens for transport. Store specimen samples according to required temperature, place samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes, accurately label, and follow different procedures as outlined by specific protocols needed for transport to maintain specimen integrity. Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. Attend annual department trainings. Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries. Minimum Qualifications Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed. Minimum of 6 months’ work experience performing venipunctures in a fast‑paced lab or hospital setting. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 2 years of experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
