Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an Intermediate Care/Stepdown unit specializing in cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery patients
• Manage a patient ratio of 4:1, adjusting based on acuity per safe staffing matrix guidelines
• Care for patients with diagnoses including CHF exacerbation, dysrhythmias (Afib/Aflutter, SVT, V-tach), pacemaker management, hemo/pneumothorax, and pre/post-operative cardiothoracic surgery patients (CABG, femoral bypass, thoracotomy, VATS, CEA)
• Monitor and manage patients requiring or recovering from Cath Lab procedures including STEMI/NSTEMI and coronary artery disease
• Accurately document all patient care activities using Epic electronic health records
• Float within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities as required

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license (no pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years of IMC/MS Stepdown experience with cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery patient populations
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Completed EKG Course and/or Telemetry competency test
• NIHSS certification required
• Experience maintaining a 4:1 patient ratio in an IMC or stepdown setting

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Familiarity with Epic electronic health records charting system
• Experience caring for patients with temporary or external pacemakers, symptomatic/asymptomatic bradycardia, and complex dysrhythmias
• Prior travel nursing experience in a cardiology or cardiothoracic stepdown environment
