Senior Buyer – Life Sciences North America (Northeast Houston, TX) Job Overview As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing major capital equipment and materials for mid‑ to large‑sized projects with Total Installed Cost ranging from $50M to $750M. You will apply functional knowledge to solve complex procurement challenges, implement innovative solutions, and lead project procurement activities. Key Responsibilities Purchase and coordinate procurement of complex materials and equipment for Life Sciences projects. Lead procurement activities and act as the main point of contact for project teams. Ensure procurement aligns with project objectives and organizational policies. Mentor and indirectly lead a team of procurement professionals. Continuously advance knowledge in specific commodity or subject areas. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a business, construction, supply chain, or operations management discipline (or equivalent experience). 8+ years of experience in capital equipment purchasing. 2+ years of experience in Biopharmaceutical/Life Science Manufacturing Projects (preferred). Strong communication, interpersonal, problem‑solving, and organizational skills. Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills and proficiency with MS Office tools. Willingness to indirectly lead and mentor procurement team members. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in a relevant field. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Experience using advanced MS Excel. Location & Work Environment 100% onsite at the Northeast Houston, Texas client location.
