Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience License: Client nursing license required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - New York nursing license in hand - Experience with patient ratios of 1:6 to 1:7 - Charge experience required - Epic charting experience required Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry. The nurse will work in a high-volume unit requiring complex care. The nurse will manage patients with orthopedic overflow and complex long-term conditions. The nurse must be able to monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias. The role includes the use of rapid response/code teams and managing pacemakers. Nurses will also provide care related to feeding tubes, blood product administration, and central line management. Skills in phlebotomy and peripheral line care are also necessary. Additional responsibilities include starting IVs, managing heparin protocols, and providing wound care. The nurse will be required to float between units as necessary. Every other weekend coverage is mandatory. This is a full-time position with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
