Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an SRE for a top financial services client. This individual will serve as a key reliability engineering leader helping mature and expand SRE practices across mission-critical banking applications. The ideal candidate brings deep, hands-on SRE expertise and can confidently discuss reliability engineering concepts beyond basic theory, with proven experience implementing SLOs, SLIs, Error Budgets, observability frameworks, and operational excellence initiatives. This person will work closely with senior engineering leaders and subject matter experts to integrate critical applications into a mature SRE operating model while improving reliability, resilience, and efficiency across the environment. Skills and Requirements

Must-Haves:

3-5 years of true SRE experience (manager is more focused on depth of SRE expertise than a strict years requirement)

Ability to discuss SRE concepts beyond foundational definitions

Hands-on experience building and implementing SLOs, SLIs, and Error Budgets

Experience integrating applications into SRE operating models and reliability frameworks

Strong understanding of observability, operational metrics, service health, and reliability engineering principles

Experience reducing incidents, MTTR, operational toil, and reliability risk

Ability to work with senior technical leaders and influence direction

Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills

Experience in large enterprise environments Plusses:

Financial services, banking, or payments experience

Experience implementing SRE practices across critical business services

Experience with capability maturity models (CMM, ITIL, or related operational frameworks)

SRE transformation experience within regulated enterprises

Experience driving reliability initiatives across complex distributed systems

Executive-level communication and presentation experience
