Emergency Department Registered Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour rotating shifts including evenings and nights.

Job Description

This role requires an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. The ED handles an average daily census of 190-200 patients, focusing on critical conditions such as STEMI, stroke, trauma, and general medical emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and perform triage duties in a fast-paced environment.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, adhering to standards of care.
• Collaboration with medical staff and emergency technicians to ensure optimal patient care.
• Participate in patient education, discharge planning, and coordination with interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient care documentation using Epic.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active California RN license.
• 2+ years of recent Emergency Department experience required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA only), NIH Stroke Scale.
• Epic experience is mandatory.
• Prefer certifications in TNCC and CEN, with advanced trauma and pediatrics experience.
