Technician I (Electrical) – Temporary 6‑Month Contract Location: Sylmar, CA Job ID: 474 # of Openings: 10 Title: Tech I Mfg Ops Job Family: Components Reports to: Mfg. Mgr FLSA Status: Non‑exempt Position Summary We have an opportunity for an Electrical Assembly Technician I primarily focused on strain gage placement and wiring of transducer switches. The selected individual will have experience in an electrical/electronics manufacturing environment and demonstrated skills in working with micro‑miniature products. Preference will be given to candidates from the aerospace or medical device manufacturing industry. Position Duties Work under a stereo microscope to orient and assemble small and delicate electrical components that are sensitive to environment, process changes, and F.O.D. Position and place micro‑miniature parts using specialty adhesives and solder, placing very fine wires using tweezers and small hand tools/fixtures. Solder/weld parts by following schematic, blueprint, and standard work instructions. Ensure product quality and conformance to design requirements. Maintain a high level of dexterity, attention to detail, and discipline to deliver product consistency on repetitive tasks. Work well under time standards to meet customer demand. Commit to process improvement and take pride in the quality of workmanship. Be willing and able to cross‑train and learn through knowledge sharing. Perform other tasks and functions assigned by the supervisor/manager from time to time. Qualifications Experience with soldering of components to J‑STD‑001 and inspection per IPC‑A‑610 specification requirements desirable. High school diploma or equivalent. Quality conscious with good dexterity. Ability to read, interpret, and work from drawings, controlled documentation, and processes such as layout drawings, mechanical drawings, assembly procedures/work instructions, schematics, engineering drawings, and parts lists. Five or more years of uninterrupted electrical assembly experience using a microscope. Ability to work under a microscope for extended periods of time. Understanding of basic electronics. Good communication skills and teamwork ability. Basic computer skills. Physical Demands Fine motor skills and hand‑eye coordination for precision work; requires a high level of dexterity. Handle delicate, sensitive, and miniature parts with utmost care. Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs. Regularly sit for up to eight hours and stand as required. Vision required: close vision.
