Registered Nurse - CVICU

Job Description

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced RN for the CVICU unit to provide specialized critical care to cardiac and vascular surgery patients. This 13-week travel assignment offers the opportunity to work with advanced technology and a dedicated team in a reputable facility.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill CVICU patients, including titration of vesicant medications and administration of pressors, sedatives, and paralytics.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, hemodynamics, and PA catheter data to inform treatment decisions.
• Perform advanced procedures such as cardioversion, chest tube insertions, transvenous pacing, TEE, and sedation management.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Document patient care activities accurately using Cerner system in compliance with hospital policies.
• Adhere to unit-specific policies, safety protocols, and dress code requirements to maintain a professional and compliant environment.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Registered Nurse license.
• Possess at least 2 years of ICU experience, with recent CVICU experience preferred.
• Demonstrate proficiency in ventilator management, telemetry interpretation, and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Have familiarity with advanced cardiac procedures and critical care equipment.
• Be able to titrate vesicant medications and manage pressors, sedation, and paralytics effectively.
• CCRN certification is recommended but not required.
