As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Electronic Trading Services Platforms , you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery. The Lead will work directly with the Electronic Trading Lines of Business to ensure the technical strategy aligns with and accomplishes business goals, to develop solutions to compute engineering challenges, and to provide guidance and mentorship to partner technical teams. They will be an expert advisor to peers, leadership, and stakeholders. Job responsibilities Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives Work directly with Lines of Business to understand and address their needs and challenges within the compute space within a low-latency Electronic Trading environment Direct the strategies for server hardware platform, server/OS tuning and automation, and infrastructure application lifecycle Design Authority for the compute infrastructure application stack, including build and configuration management, and log/metric aggregation Interface with hardware and software vendors on product roadmaps and to establish the next generation of Electronic Trading Platform infrastructure Makes decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10 years applied experience.
