Full-Time Cardinal Foods a domestic Marketer, Manufacturer and Distributor of traditional, specialty and value-added fruit and vegetable ingredients. These products are currently manufactured in North Carolina with a short-term eye on growth in the southeast and then to other concentrated growing areas nationally. CF may also be engaging in other complimentary business ventures as the opportunities arise in the future. Job Summary The Production Worker is responsible for safely and efficiently performing a variety of tasks involved in the processing, packaging, and preparation of sweet potatoes for shipment. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced food production environment, and a strong commitment to food safety, quality, and workplace safety. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Sort, inspect, wash, grade, trim, peel, cut, or otherwise process sweet potatoes according to production requirements. Operate production and packaging equipment safely and efficiently after receiving appropriate training. Monitor products for quality, size, appearance, cleanliness, and proper packaging. Load and unload product, boxes, containers, or materials as directed. Package and label finished products accurately. Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift. Follow all food safety, sanitation, quality control, and workplace safety procedures. Follow production schedules and meet established productivity and quality standards. Remove damaged, defective, or improperly processed product. Assist with equipment cleaning and sanitation according to company procedures. Report equipment problems, product-quality concerns, safety hazards, or other issues to a supervisor. Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Work cooperatively with coworkers, supervisors, maintenance personnel, and other departments. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous food processing, manufacturing, agricultural, or production experience is helpful but not required. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform repetitive tasks. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands for extended periods. Ability to lift and move materials as required for the position. Willingness to follow all company safety and food-handling procedures. Work Environment Work is performed in a food

processing/production

facility. Employees may be exposed to wet, cold, warm, or humid conditions depending on the processing area. Work may involve standing for extended periods and performing repetitive movements. The position may require working around moving machinery, conveyors, forklifts, water, cleaning chemicals, and food-processing equipment. Appropriate PPE and safety training will be provided as required. Schedule Production schedules may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime, and seasonal or peak-production hours depending on business needs. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, twist, and use hands. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials within the requirements of the position. Ability to work safely around production equipment and follow established safety procedures.
