Manager III, Field Service / Customer Engineer

Salary: $88,000.00 - $121,000.00. Location: Phoenix, AZ. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain customer relationships with all relevant individuals in the district at all levels. Perform regular customer visits. Manage, coach, and direct all customer engineers in the district. Plan salaries and careers, set objectives, conduct performance appraisals, and take corrective action when necessary. Provide formal updates to employees about business activities, new hires, and new products; invite guest speakers as appropriate. Initiate and prepare reports required for the business. Serve as the primary interface with Product Divisions (tech support, training, spares, reliability). Monitor the CSD Award Program and mentor program, ensuring quarterly outcomes and defined mentors for new engineers. Execute escalation procedures. Plan accounts with the District Sales Engineer and support system sales for CSD Management, Sales, and Field Engineering. Produce financial forecasts for the district, focusing on cost efficiency and measuring results. Oversee system installation, including planning, reporting, execution, pre‑facility and start‑up meetings, and process support identification. Manage the RMA procedure and track engineer effectiveness, accuracy, and hours. Perform cross‑checks, signatures, and corrective actions related to customer engineer performance. Qualifications Strong functional knowledge: ability to analyze situations or data and review relevant factors. Business expertise: handle assignments, recommend policy changes, and measure performance against objectives. Leadership: provide direction, administer company policies, and guide subordinate employees. Problem‑solving: exercise judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate actions. Impact: understand how erroneous decisions affect schedules and take actions to avoid delays. Interpersonal skills: secure cooperation, manage presentations of technical information, and conduct project or schedule discussions. Compliance: understand and adhere to Applied Materials' global Standards of Business Conduct and ethical standards. Additional Information Full‑time position; travel 25% of the time.
