Job Description Job Description Description: As a Yard Spotter, your responsibilities will include daily equipment movements to and from docks and parking lots, as well as refueling trucks and ensuring their proper functionality. Your tasks will involve handling multiple trailer moves throughout the day. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Requirements: Adhere to company programs, policies, and procedures while completing work tasks Efficiently and accurately stage trailers for loading and transportation. Safely back trailers into docks under various weather conditions. Maneuver and reverse trailers into loading docks, and perform pre-trip inspections on fleet equipment including trailers, straight trucks, tractors, and spotter trucks. Safely Park trailers and trucks in yard parking stalls to prevent traffic congestion. Adhere to all safety protocols, including conducting safety checks to secure the fleet. Before using a spotter, complete a pre-inspection checklist at the start of each shift, which should be submitted to the trailer shop. Address any necessary repairs or issues on this form to ensure maintenance staff can make repairs and maintain records in compliance with DOT requirements. Weigh all plastic and yellow card/tagged trailers and containers. Raise trailer legs to their maximum height before moving them. Open trailer doors before docking. Secure all trailers with wheel chocks after docking before pulling out the spotter. Close doors on all trailers after removing them from the dock, whether full or empty. Organize empty trailers in designated rows by trailer type (e.g., green, blue dots) between the 920 and 900 Buildings. Yard reorganization should be carried out during idle periods between moves. Report any apparent customer damages or general maintenance issues to the Dock Supervisor or Second Shift Production Supervisor. Refuel the spotter at the end of the business day, and park it in the designated spot near the Trailer Maintenance Shop. Assist in filling docks as directed by the Dock Supervisor or Production Supervisor. Miscellaneous duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum of 21 years of age Authorized to work in the United States Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A with at least 1 year of tractor/trailer driving experience Ability to stand on feet for prolonged periods, ability to kneel and stoop as needed, while performing vehicle inspections Must be able to read, write, and speak English to communicate verbally and in writing Ability to follow directions and willingness to learn Requirements: No preventable accidents within the last 2 years, and no DOT recordable/preventable accidents within the last 5 years. No DUI/DWI, Careless/Reckless driving citations, or revoked/suspended license within the past 5 years. No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years. Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds. Pass a background check, drug screening, road test, and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) assessment. Provide proof of a current medical card. Work Environment Warehouse setting exposed to outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, and cold/hot temperatures. Exposure to normal work hazards, including various physical conditions, moving vehicles, and machines. Fast-paced manufacturing environment with some allergen products.
