Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours Guaranteed Per Week | Every Other Weekend and Every Other Holiday Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for observation and short-stay patients including those presenting with chest pain, abdominal pain, post-operative conditions (hysterectomies, knee scopes, tonsillectomies, appendectomies, hernias), and infusion therapy requiring blood or antibiotics
• Manage a high-volume, fast-paced unit with frequent admissions and discharges within a 12-hour shift, requiring strong organizational skills
• Perform IV starts, Foley catheter insertion, dressing changes, and other standard nursing procedures for pre- and post-operative observation patients
• Accurately document patient care using EPIC EMR and administer medications using an Acudose narcotic dispensing system with medication scanning
• Collaborate within a 1:5 RN-to-patient ratio on a 24-bed unit, working as part of a team at all times
• Float to other Medical-Surgical areas as needed, following the same rotation as permanent staff

Required Qualifications

• Active North Dakota RN license or valid Compact RN license
• Current BLS certification
• Experience with IV starts, Foley catheterization, dressing changes, and general nursing skills
• Experience caring for pre- and post-operative observation patients
• Ability to manage high patient turnover and maintain strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with EPIC EMR
• Familiarity with Acudose or similar narcotic dispensing and medication scanning systems
• Experience in a Medical-Surgical or observation unit setting
