About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department Boarder Profession: RN Med/Surg Specialty: ER RN Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating Shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights) Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years Med/Surg experience License: NYS RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (preferred but not required) Must-Have: - NYS RN License - Two years of Med/Surg experience - Telemetry experience Description: This is a fast-paced Adult Emergency Department that manages a high volume of patient visits annually. It serves as one of the busiest trauma centers in the area. The role involves treating a diverse patient population with a wide variety of diagnoses. The focus will exclusively be on the care of Med/Surg boarder patients within the Emergency Department. Nurses will maintain a patient ratio of 1:5 with assistive personnel available. No prior Emergency Department experience is required. Candidates must possess a valid NYS RN license and have telemetry experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are mandatory. NIHSS certification is preferred but not mandatory.
