Job Title: Warehouse Manager Job Description

The Warehouse Manager leads day-to-day warehouse operations to ensure that shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material movement are executed safely, accurately, and efficiently. This role directly supervises hourly warehouse employees, translates enterprise standards and systems into real-time execution on the floor, and upholds high quality, safety, and service standards in a fast-paced, multi-shift environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, staging, storage, picking, and internal material movement to meet service, accuracy, and safety targets.
• Serve as the day-to-day supervisor for hourly warehouse employees, providing clear direction, oversight, coaching, and accountability.
• Own daily and weekly labor deployment and scheduling for warehouse teams, aligning staffing levels with workload and throughput requirements.
• Lead hourly employee performance management, including ongoing coaching, feedback, corrective action, and recognition in accordance with company policies and People Operations guidance.
• Reinforce attendance, punctuality, and work standards consistently and fairly across the team.
• Ensure accurate and timely shipping and receiving activities, including documentation, labeling, system transactions, and hand-offs.
• Maintain strong inventory accuracy by managing cycle counts, investigating variances, conducting root-cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
• Execute warehouse management system (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) processes, including NetSuite, and ensure disciplined, accurate transactions at the site level.
• Partner closely with Production to ensure raw materials, ingredients, and packaging are staged and available to support production schedules.
• Coordinate with Transportation, inter-company fleet, and third-party logistics partners to support outbound shipments and inter-facility transfers.
• Conduct shift start-up and post-shift huddles to confirm plan attainment, identify shortfalls, document issues, and reinforce expectations with the team.
• Monitor warehouse key performance indicators, such as inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, dock-to-stock time, damages, and productivity, and take real-time corrective action as needed.
• Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and safe material-handling practices, actively leading efforts to reduce incidents and near misses.
• Ensure all warehouse activities support food safety, product quality, sanitation, and regulatory requirements in partnership with Food Safety and Quality Assurance teams.
• Train, coach, and cross-train warehouse team members on procedures, equipment operation, safety practices, and quality standards.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve workflows, and increase efficiency, encouraging team input and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate time and attendance records using timekeeping systems, including POIS, and manage overtime in accordance with policy.
• Communicate warehouse performance, staffing challenges, inventory risks, and operational issues clearly and proactively to senior operations leadership.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5+ years of warehouse or distribution leadership experience, preferably in food manufacturing or other regulated environments.
• At least 2+ years of experience supervising hourly employees, including scheduling, performance management, and labor accountability.
• Strong working knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, inventory control, and material-handling best practices.
• Hands-on experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms, with NetSuite experience preferred.
• Experience working with third-party logistics partners and managing inter-company transfers.
• Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, multi-shift environment.
• Knowledge or experience in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies, highly preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a dynamic, fast-moving setting.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing or other highly regulated environments.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement tools and approaches, including Lean and Six Sigma.
• Comfort working with key performance indicators and data-driven decision-making.
• Strong relationship-building skills to partner effectively with Production, Transportation, and external logistics providers.
• Clean, valid driver’s license.
• Certification and experience operating material-handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

Work Environment

This role is primarily based in warehouse and manufacturing environments, requiring the ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. You will regularly navigate docks, trailers, forklifts, and uneven surfaces and must do so safely and attentively. The position requires wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and other protective gear as needed. You must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 60 pounds and work in varying environmental conditions, such as temperature extremes, noise, and active warehouse traffic. The role involves operating and overseeing the operation of material-handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, with appropriate certification. Flexible hours are required, including the possibility of early mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended shifts based on operational needs. Clear and effective communication is essential to succeed in this fast-paced, high-activity environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of East Rutherford, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $95000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
