Smaller class sizes in diverse educational settings. Para Pay Explanation: This role pays $15.25/hr, including all breaks (6-8 weeks off yearly). Pay continues through holidays and summer break, making the effective rate 18.44/hr for working hours. Fuel student successand your ownas you support your assigned student as determined by their individualized education plan (IEP). You will play an essential role as part of a multidisciplinary team in delivering holistic guidance and support. Responsibilities Work in a setting with diverse students from varying developmental, cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Work one on one with an assigned student to meet goals set forth in their IEP, providing accommodations and modifications as necessary. Assist in the development and modification of behavior support plans. Implement behavior support plans; record and track data on behaviors, progress toward goals, and incidents. Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies. Implement de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint if necessary to maintain the safety of students and staff. Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages the development of appropriate social and behavioral skills. Supervise students and ensure they are always monitored, including to and from appropriate school locations. Work in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members to ensure consistent implementation of behavior support plans. Provide personal care support dependent on the student's needs. Communicate effectively with parents. Qualifications What we expect of you. High school diploma. Experience working in an educational setting implementing behavioral interventions for students with intensive behavioral needs preferred. Posted Salary Range USD $18.44 - USD $18.44 /Hr. Physical Requirements Ability to run short distances and move swiftly in response to student needs, including bending, kneeling, and crouching. Ability to lift and assist students with mobility challenges, often requiring the handling of up to 50 pounds or more. Skill in managing fine motor tasks, such as helping students with writing, manipulating small objects, or using adaptive devices. Ability to operate a computer or tablet for up to 8 hours daily. Capacity to notice and respond to non-verbal cues from students.
