Tax Staff Accountant

Overview As an entry level staff accountant in our Tax Department you will begin laying the foundation for a rewarding career. You will work on various engagements preparing business tax returns and other assigned tasks. In understanding tax regulations and accounting pronouncements, Tax Staff Accountants provide quality tax services to clients by completing tax planning and research as well as preparing federal, state, and local tax returns for review. This position has a target start date of October 2026; an earlier start date during the summer of 2026 may be determined based upon individual circumstances. Responsibilities Preparing tax returns, organizing work papers and conducting self-review of work. Organizing facts, analyzing and interpreting information. Developing the skills for basic tax research projects. Developing an understanding of tax software for compliance. Taking responsibility for service quality, thoroughness and accuracy. Demonstrating an ability to learn. Working effectively and building relationships with team members. Proactively communicating with direct supervisor. Seeking feedback to learn and develop in role. Qualifications Qualified candidates should have excellent communication skills, self-confidence, and be self-motivated and capable of working productively in a professional environment. You must be conscientious, detailed-oriented and have excellent analytical and organizational skills. You must hold a Bachelor degree in Accounting with 150 credit hours to satisfy eligibility for CPA licensing or an MBA or Master's degree. A basic knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications is required; and experience with financial/accounting software applications is a plus. Internship assignments involving auditing or tax preparation experience is also a plus.
