Civil Engineer – Wastewater Salary and Pay Incentives Annual base salary: $136,177.60 Future salary increases: June 2026 – 4.57% increase to base pay (3.5% Across‑Board + 1.07% Market Adjustment) June 2027 – 4.07% increase to base pay (3% Across‑Board + 1.07% Market Adjustment) Additional pay incentives: New Hire Lateral Incentive Pay up to $5,000 for candidates with experience as a Civil Engineer in a public agency 5% Engineer Premium (applied to time worked) $1,250 Recruitment Bonus Additional $1,250 Bonus after successful completion of the probation period Employee Referral Reward Program is available for qualified positions. Responsibilities Civil Engineers in the Wastewater Management Program are responsible for planning, designing, and managing construction of water and wastewater infrastructure—including pipelines, pump stations, treatment plants, and ancillary equipment. Typical duties include: Performing complex engineering calculations, modeling, and studies. Preparing and reviewing construction plans and specifications. Administering contracts and managing construction progress. Conducting construction inspections. Conducting technical and financial analyses. Preparing and reviewing technical reports. Managing regulatory permits. Leading teams of professionals and supervising technical staff. Collaborating closely with field operations staff. Ideal Candidate Profile Proven professional level experience as a civil engineer. High degree of motivation and willingness to grow professionally. Professional perspective and objective demeanor in varied situations. Ability to review and handle complex projects involving multiple functional groups. Minimum Qualifications Registration by the State of California as a Professional Engineer. Extensive experience in planning, design, or construction of water and wastewater infrastructure is highly desirable.
