Full-Time Lead Store Associate

The lead store associate position is a keyholder position responsible for independently opening and closing the store in the absence of store management. This role supports the team by guiding associates, stockers, and cashiers through opening and closing duties, helping to maintain store standards, and ensuring an excellent customer shopping experience. Position Type: Full-Time Average Hours: 38 hoursper week Starting Wage: $20.00 per hour Wage Increases: Year 2 - $20.50 | Year 3 - $21.00 | Year 4 - $21.00 | Year 5 - $22.00 Duties and Responsibilities Oversee the appropriate resolutionof employee and customer concerns, aligning with store management as needed. Communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to store personnel in the absence of store management to ensure desired results. Assistsstore management with implementing action plans to improve operating results and personnel development. Informsstore management of team developments and concerns ina timelyand effective manner. Communicates, cooperates, and interacts effectively with all levels of ALDI employees, customers, third-party vendors, and business partners. Leads, develops, and supervises the team to develop sales, engage our teams, satisfy ourcustomersand achieve consistent high performance. Understands the overarching company strategy and models the core values of the organization. Fosters a positive and collaborative working environment and promotes teamwork among employees. Stocksshelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms to maximize sales. Properlyutilizesthe point-of-sale(POS) system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and informs store management of scanning concerns or errors. Complete curbside pickup orders by accurately retrieving items from the store, verifying order contents, and ensuringtimelydelivery to customers’ vehicles from the staging area. Executes opening and closing duties in the absence of store management. Delegates and oversees the completion of tasks to store associates, cashiers, and stockers in the absence of store management. Assistsstore management in achieving operational efficiency goals. Assistsstore management in achieving total loss goals. Adheres to cash policies and procedures. Resolves concerns from store personnel and customers and/orrefers such concerns to the storemanageras necessary. Models,communicatesandmonitorscompliance with established policies and procedures. Ensuresstore personnel adhere to expense guidelines, inventory procedures, product handling, and cash handling policies to minimize loss. Ensuresstore personnelmaintain zone standards and merchandising standards at all times. Ensuresstore personnelcomply withthe company’s guidelines,policiesand procedures;demonstratesappropriate interactionswith co-workers. Supports store management in ensuring a safe working environment by rectifying and identifying unsafe conditions, including poor ergonomics and equipment concerns to prevent injuries or accidents before they occur. Performs general cleaning tasks to company standards. Physical Demands Required to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move from one area to another. Required to lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead. Required operation of equipment such as a cash register, electric and manual hand jacks, floorscrubberand cardboard baler. Required tostockproductin varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments. Required to use glass and multipurpose cleaning products. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Ability to organize,prioritizeand complete activities to maximize the total time available. Ability toestablishand successfully execute plans and goals. Ability tomaintainreliable and prompt attendance. Ability to meet availability requirements. Education and experience At least 18 years oldrequired. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior experience in a retail environment and prior management experience preferred.
