The Department of Neurology at our organization is on the lookout for a full-time neurologist to join the MHealth Fairview partnership, which includes University of Minnesota Physicians and Fairview Health Services.

• We are in search of a physician certified in neuromuscular medicine, particularly one with a focus on ALS research and patient care.

• This role entails approximately 30% involvement in leading neuromuscular clinical research within a well-established clinical and translational research framework.

  • We encourage applications from candidates with a background in neuromuscular research, particularly those with existing funding and expertise, including MD PhD or MD MPH holders.

• As part of a multidisciplinary team, the selected candidate will deliver outpatient neuromuscular services at both the University campus and community clinics, which include:

  • ALS multidisciplinary clinic

  • General neuromuscular clinic

  • Electromyography (EMG)

  • Neuromuscular ultrasound

• Some limited inpatient call coverage will be required.

• There will be opportunities to mentor and train medical students, residents, and fellows.

• Collaboration with innovative neuroscience physicians and researchers on clinical trials, biomarker development, and other academic initiatives is encouraged.

• Completion of an accredited Neurology residency program and Board Certification or Board Prepared status with the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association.

• Successful completion of a Neuromuscular Fellowship Program.

• Possession of or eligibility for Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.

• Ability to obtain and maintain DEA certification for Minnesota.

• Must meet the necessary criteria for Credentialing and Privileges.

• Strong teaching and interpersonal skills are essential.

This position is jointly employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota. The total salary is competitive and aligned with AAMC salary benchmarks. Clinical compensation, which corresponds to clinical responsibilities, is provided through M Physicians. The base salary range for this role is between $218,757 and $344,326, depending on experience, qualifications, and clinical full-time equivalent (cFTE). The salary from the University will be based on the academic contributions of the individual hired.
