Job Overview
A law firm seeks a highly motivated Senior Associate specializing in Federal Employment and Labor Law, located in New York City, NY. This role involves working on complex employment-related legal matters, providing strategic counsel, and ensuring compliance with labor regulations.

Duties

• Lead the defense of federal agencies in MSPB appeals, including adverse actions and whistleblower retaliation claims.
• Manage all phases of the MSPB litigation lifecycle, including drafting agency files and handling complex discovery.
• Advise agency leadership on employee relations, risk mitigation, and compliance with federal personnel laws.
• Draft Petitions for Review to the Full Board and briefs for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Requirements

• 14 years of direct experience representing management/agencies in MSPB forums/wage and hour.
• Deep familiarity with 5 C.F.R. regulations is mandatory.
• Proven track record of courtroom or administrative hearing experience.
• Exceptional brief-writing skills with the ability to distill complex regulations into persuasive arguments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Secret security clearance.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with an active NY Bar membership in good standing.

Certifications

• Active NY Bar membership in good standing.

• Exceptional brief-writing and persuasive argumentation skills.
