Essential Functions Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs. Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions. Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient. Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity. Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient. Performs timely and accurate QI assessments. Assesses the patient and plans care within set timeframes and documents findings according to policies. Oversees and supervises the shift. Demonstrates leadership through duties that may include delegating tasks such as group observation, meal supervision, etc. Ensures nursing policies and procedures are followed and exemplary patient care is consistently delivered. Monitors patient for change of condition and responds accordingly, up to and including notifying the physician. Follows hospital policy for medication administration. Consistently uses empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients. Delivers quality nursing care to ensure that goals of the treatment plan are properly executed following hospital policies and procedures and demonstrated nursing competencies. Professional development and learning opportunities. Shift differential. Qualifications Associate’s degree in nursing. Current Registered Nurse license required by state regulations. Preferred: 1 year of experience in a psychiatric health care facility. CPR certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact. De‑escalation certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact. Preferred: Previous experience with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients. Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.
