Education Assistant

Give children a head start! This position is set to start on September 14th. Work scheduled for 16-18 hours a week running from August-May with summers off.

Assist classroom staff with daily routine operations such as assisting with child drop-off and pick-up times, meal and snack preparation, school bus monitoring, and providing staff break times.

Pay scale:

• Step 1: High school diploma or equivalent & relevant experience $16.16/hr.
• Step 2: Level 1 Credential $16.26/hr.
• Step 3: CDA or Level 2 $17.06/hr.
• Step 4: Teacher Certification or DQ $17.41

CPCD offers paid vacation time, paid sick time, and paid holidays/breaks. Paid holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Juneteenth, Presidents Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Required:

• Must be able to lift/carry/manipulate up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work with multiple staff members in one setting.
• HS diploma or GED.
• Must obtain and maintain adult/infant CPR and first aid certification within 90-days of employment.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check in accordance with the Office of Head Start Performance Standards and Childcare Licensing. (Physical examination and TB test thereafter as required).
• Must have access to reliable transportation with minimum liability insurance as determined by the State of Colorado; to perform functions of the job, including being able to go to another location during the workday if necessary.

Preferred:

• At least one year of successful work experience with children birth to age three and/or to age five.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish languages.
• CACFP food training.
• Bus Safety Training.
