Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to transplant patients before and after surgery
• Monitor for signs of organ rejection, infection, or complications and respond promptly
• Administer immunosuppressive medications and educate patients on adherence
• Collaborate with surgeons, transplant coordinators, and specialty teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Conduct patient education on post-transplant lifestyle changes, medication management, and follow-up care
• Perform routine assessments, diagnostic tests, and documentation of patient progress
• Support organ donor patients and assist in living donor care
• Maintain strict infection control and safety protocols
• Participate in transplant team meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state(s)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in transplant nursing, critical care, or related field
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
• Transplant-specific certification (CCTN) preferred but not required
• Strong knowledge of immunosuppressive therapies, transplant procedures, and post-surgical care
• Excellent patient advocacy, communication, and teamwork skills
