Business Immigration Associate (1st year)

Responsibilities Develop an expert‑level understanding of your client base, the industries you support, and the firm’s practice areas and services Assess eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for non‑immigrant and immigrant visa status Prepare petitions and applications for submission to government agencies for non‑immigrant and immigrant foreign national employees Draft and prepare letters and legal documents based on established precedents Conduct research to support client requests and projects Supervise paralegal staff in record keeping and document preparation Learn and effectively implement guidance and direction offered by supervisors and experienced colleagues Communicate promptly with clients within SLAs and team protocols, responding in a precise, efficient, thoughtful, and organized manner Partner with colleagues to resolve client issues, share information, and support client projects Support clients in immigration program management and compliance Use firm technology accurately and in line with team and client protocols, ensuring accurate and complete data entry Actively contribute to team meetings and firm‑wide activities Serve as a source of advice and training to more junior colleagues, sharing immigration knowledge and expertise Ensure compliance with documented firm standards and policies to mitigate risk and support regulatory and client compliance Perform other duties as required Qualifications U.S. JD or LLM required Member of a U.S. State bar or Washington DC bar association 0‑2 years of experience at Associate level Academic understanding of immigration law Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to proofread documents, draft fluent prose, and avoid grammatical mistakes without the aid of AI engines Dedication to exceptional client service Demonstrated attention to detail Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment with competing demands Ability to contribute to a positive work environment Benefits 27 PTO days + Federal holidays Medical, Dental, and Vision plans FSA & HSA plans 401(k) plan Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Fragomen is committed to promoting diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity for all employees and applicants, regardless of race, ethnicity, heritage, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or intersex status. #J-18808-Ljbffr
