Bilingual Immigration Paralegal

About the Firm Pelton and Balducci, LLC is looking for an immigration paralegal to add to our team. Located in New Orleans’ Central Business District, our firm handles family-based, employment-based, and humanitarian immigration cases, along with deportation defense. Our clients come from every continent (Antarctica excluded!). Qualifications A strong candidate must be enthusiastic, hard‑working, dependable, punctual, professional, and detail-oriented. They must also be able to handle multiple responsibilities at once, have excellent communication skills, be comfortable working in both English and Spanish, and be able to work as a team. Prior experience as an immigration paralegal is strongly preferred, but training can be provided for the right person. Requirements Reliability and punctuality Attention to detail Ability to follow directions well Ability to work as a team player Ability to take initiative and solve problems Comfort working with people from diverse backgrounds Interest in supporting and assisting clients seeking resolution in their cases Strong oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills Fluency in oral and written Spanish Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new computer applications Preferred: prior experience in immigration law Preferred: additional language ability Preferred: bachelor’s degree Duties Work directly with clients to complete immigration applications and compile supporting materials Manage cases actively to ensure progress and meet deadlines Draft declarations with clients in English and Spanish Correspond with clients about case developments and requirements as instructed by attorneys Prepare filings for USCIS and the Immigration Court Revise all material according to comments received in the two‑attorney review process Communicate with USCIS, the Immigration Court, police departments, and clerks of court to request documents or information Occasionally provide account information to clients Perform other related tasks as needed Compensation and Benefits Job type: Full‑time Pay: From $20.00 per hour Paid holidays and vacation Sick leave Health insurance Retirement plan (401(k)) Paid time off Schedule 8‑hour shift Monday to Friday Holidays Overtime Language Requirements English (Required) Spanish (Required) Location Work location: In person Ability to commute: New Orleans, LA 70163 (Required) How to Apply To apply, please submit your résumé and cover letter.
