Seasonal Dot Operations Support - Edison, Ca

Simplot Grower Solutions is looking to fill a seasonal truck driver/warehouse position. Full-time, temporary, position with full benefits and the opportunity for substantial over-time hours. The primary responsibility is to operate trucks, deliver fertilizer and chemicals and assist with plant operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Operate fertilizer truck, fill application equipment, and support plant operations as needed.
• May assist with recordkeeping related to warehouse/inventory responsibilities.
• Maintain and keep trucks clean.
• Performs varied responsibilities such as: equipment and plant maintenance including welding, pump and engine overhauls, painting, and general housekeeping responsibilities.
• Loading and delivering fertilizer and chemicals to customers.
• Miscellaneous duties such as assisting with special projects, attending training sessions, providing back-up when needed, etc.

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered for this position.

Skills & relevant experience: Truck driving experience preferred. Knowledge of local rural geography is a plus. Knowledge of farm operations is a plus.

Requirements: Must hold and maintain a Class A CDL and appropriate driving record. Preferred endorsements (not required): HazMat Tanker Doubles/Triples. Must be willing to work overtime and weekends to meet seasonal demands. Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job. Ability to accurately count materials, reconcile quantities, and complete basic math calculations as part of routine workflow.

Location(s): SGS Retail Edison - Bakersfield. Country: United States. Wage range or rate of pay: $22 - $26/hr DOE.
