Cook I - Employee Dining Room

Job Responsibilities The Cook I position is responsible for ensuring the highest quality food preparation and presentation in the kitchen stations and outlets as well as banquets and parties during an assigned shift, in accordance with the Company’s specifications and standards. License Level: This is a Non-Gaming position. Nothing in this job description shall be interpreted to allow this position to make discretionary decisions or long-range policy determinations that impact gaming facility operations. Essential Functions: Prepares, seasons, and garnishes all food. Maintains all refrigeration and dry storage areas to ensure proper handling and rotation of products. Follows all recipes, specs, and control procedures. Maintains a clean and sanitary area at all times in full accordance with health regulations. Performs proper receiving, thawing, and storage in correct location, proportioning prep area sanitation, heating and holding, and re-thermalization. Assists with guest requests when needed. Reports any mishaps in the kitchen. Applies safety standards. Looks after the stock of the kitchen and informing it to the head chef as the stock runs out Cooks dishes under the supervision of the Assistant Executive Chef. Applies all safety standards in accordance to RWNYC guidelines. Maintains knowledge of the menu thoroughly. Ensures the quality of the food produced and maintain the quality and quantity of food throughout the service period. Performs other tasks as assigned. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required. Knowledge/Work Experience: Must be at least 18 years old and have the ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to the applicable statute, rules and regulations. High school diploma or G.E.D preferred Two (2) year experience as a cook in customer service or hospitality environment preferred Must have a NYS Food Handlers Permit Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other Team Members or guests. Fluency in English required. Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Mathematical Skills & Reasoning Ability: Ability to compute mathematical calculations. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to decipher various reports and maintains reports upon request with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Essential responsibilities include moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least fifteen (15) pounds, and prolonged standing during the shift. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases too loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.
