Job SummaryA growing apparel and consumer products organization in Agoura Hills, CA is seeking a VP Finance/Controller CPA for a direct hire leadership opportunity. This fully onsite role is ideal for a senior finance executive who can lead both strategic finance and hands-on accounting operations in a fast-paced manufacturing, apparel, retail, or consumer products environment.Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Finance and Controller will oversee accounting, FP&A, cash management, financial reporting, internal controls, and business planning. This is a high-impact role with direct visibility to executive leadership and the opportunity to influence growth strategy, profitability, inventory investment, working capital, and operational decision-making.The company offers a collaborative leadership environment where finance is viewed as a true business partner. This role is well suited for a finance leader who enjoys building scalable processes, developing teams, improving systems, and partnering across operations, supply chain, merchandising, and executive leadership.Key Responsibilities- Lead all finance and accounting functions, including AP, AR, GL, payroll, revenue recognition, financial reporting, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.- Serve as a key financial advisor to the CEO and President on growth strategy, profitability, pricing, capital allocation, and operational performance.- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes while ensuring GAAP-compliant financial statements, strong internal controls, and audit readiness.- Build financial models, dashboards, KPI reporting, and executive reporting packages to improve business visibility and decision-making.- Manage cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, liquidity, working capital, inventory investment, cost of goods sold analysis, and compliance with credit facilities.- Lead ERP and financial systems improvements while developing and mentoring finance and accounting team members.Compensation and Benefits- Salary range: $190,000 to $225,000 per year.- Direct hire opportunity.- Fully onsite role in Agoura Hills, CA.- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.- 401(k) retirement plan with company 4% matching.- Paid time off, including holidays.- Employee discounts on company products.Equal Opportunity Employer / Disabled / Protected VeteransThe Know Your Rights poster is available here:The pay transparency policy is available here:For temporary assignments lasting 13 weeks or longer, AppleOne is pleased to offer major medical, dental, vision, 401k and any statutory sick pay where required.We are committed to working with and providing reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities. For Los Angeles, CA applicants: Qualified applications with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act.Additional SkillsRequired Qualifications and Skills- Lead strategic finance, accounting operations, FP&A, cash management, financial reporting, and internal controls.- Own budgeting, rolling forecasts, long-range planning, financial modeling, and KPI reporting.- Partner with executive leadership, operations, supply chain, and merchandising teams to improve profitability, working capital, and inventory performance.- Develop scalable financial systems, processes, controls, reporting tools, and team structures.- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.- 10 to 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.- CPA strongly preferred based on role scope and title.- Proven ability to lead both Controller-level accounting functions and FP&A or strategic finance functions.- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, close processes, audits, and accounting policies.- Experience managing external auditors, tax advisors, banking relationships, and outsourced partners.- Demonstrated ability to build and scale finance teams, financial systems, dashboards, and reporting processes.- Strong analytical, leadership, communication, business partnership, and executive presentation skills.Preferred Qualifications- Apparel industry background strongly desired.- Experience in apparel, retail, consumer products, clothing manufacturing, or textile manufacturing.- MBA preferred.- Experience optimizing ERP systems and financial reporting platforms in a scaling organization.- Experience supporting lender, investor, or board-level reporting requirements.AppleOne Representative Contact InfoAccount Executive:DianaBranch Phone:(818) 247-2991Location:Glendale, CA
