Executive Director of Learning and Development

Join our Executive Leadership Team as one of the architects of our restaurant's continued growth. Reporting directly to the Owner, you will have a direct seat at the table in shaping the future of this growing restaurant. You will not just manage a department; you will build it from the ground up. This is a high-impact, strategic role designed for a leader who thrives on operational excellence, structure, and the development of others. Role Mission Architect and sustain a world-class, data-driven training culture that makes Pathway the single source of truth, ensuring operational excellence, food-safety protection, and the development of the next generation of Chick-fil-A leaders by linking insights to on-floor execution. Core Responsibilities Culture Stewardship: Ensure the restaurant's "Winning Hearts Every Day" strategy is woven into every training module. Founding Program Architecture: Design and implement the restaurant’s foundational training systems, from Day 0 onboarding to shift and director-level leadership development. Pathway Mastery: Serve as the primary administrator and champion of Pathway. Ensure 100% adoption and that every Team Member is trained to the exact brand standard. Operational SME: Act as the restaurant’s premier Subject Matter Expert. You must be able to model excellence to effectively coach and validate others. Strategic Analytics: Monitor daily CEM (Customer Experience Monitor) feedback to identify performance gaps. Deliver comprehensive End-of-Month (EOM) reports to the Operator, correlating training efforts to financial and operational wins. Leadership Pipeline: Identify and mentor the next generation of leaders, ensuring a deep "bench" of talent ready for promotion. The Ideal Candidate Drives Results: A self-starter who can take a "blank slate" and turn it into a functioning department. The "Builder" Mentality: You are energized by the challenge of creating systems where few exist. Data Driven: You can look at a customer feedback report or a P&L and immediately know what training intervention is required and track progress incrementally until the issue is no longer an opportunity. Operational Authority: You lead by example and possess the grit to work "in the trenches" alongside the team to ensure standards are met. Communicates Effectively: Can influence veteran Team Members who may be resistant to new formal processes. Culture builder: Foster a culture of recognition and teamwork, recognizing that strong culture is essential to operational excellence. Executive Presence: As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you possess the professional maturity to challenge the status quo and drive the Operator’s vision forward. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Pathway Verification: 100% completion and "Sign-Off" rate for all active Team Members. CEM Growth: Measurable, month-over-month improvement in "Overall Satisfaction", "Fast & Accurate," and "Attentive & Courteous" scores. Retention: Significant increase in 90-day Team Member retention through a superior onboarding experience. Operational Excellence: Successful scores on all Quality and secret shopper visits.
