Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in a full-service Level III NICU capable of caring for extremely low birth weight infants as young as 24 weeks gestation and weighing as little as 500 grams
• Manage a mixed-acuity patient population within a 30-bed unit with an average daily census of approximately 10 infants
• Float to NAN (Newborn Admission Nurse) role, including newborn medications, assessment, and initial breastfeeding support, as needed
• Float to DRAN (Delivery Room Admission Nurse) role, covering the first 30 minutes of a newborn's life, as needed
• Float to the baby module in the Family Center as directed
• Fulfill on-call requirements of 12 hours per 4-week schedule

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of NICU experience required; Level III or higher NICU experience required — first-time travelers with Level III or higher experience will be considered
• Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license must be in hand at time of submission — no exceptions; proof of residency must match candidate's licensure
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Compliance modules must be completed prior to start date, no later than one week before start; modules are non-billable and average 4–5 hours, completed through the facility's online portal
• No radius rule applies; local travelers are welcome

Preferred Experience / Skills

• STABLE certification preferred
• Experience in delivery room or newborn admission nursing roles
• Familiarity with caring for extremely premature or critically ill neonates
